New tariffs for solid waste removal. On December 5, 2019, a press conference was held at the Agency of Information and Mass Communications under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the implementation of Presidential Decree UP-5580 of November 22, 2018 “On measures to radically improve the payment system for the collection and removal of solid household waste.” Representatives of responsible departments and the media took part in it. Journalists were told about the implementation of the measures provided for by the decree in 2018-2019. In particular, from January 1, 2019, the Bureau of Compulsory Enforcement (BPI) under the Prosecutor General’s Office was additionally entrusted with the task of ensuring the full and timely receipt of mandatory payments from the population for the collection and removal of municipal solid waste (MSW). For information: this year the following tariffs have been established for the collection and removal of solid waste from individuals: in the Republic of Karakalpakstan – 2100 soums (previously 1800), Andijan region – 2500 (2000), Navoi region – 3200 (2600), Samarkand region – 2900/2500 (2400/2000), Surkhandarya region – 2900/2500 (2400/2000), Syrdarya – 2800 (2000), Khorezm – 2300 (1700), Tashkent city – 4500 (3900).
