The baby saiga “spoke” to people. The little saiga spoke and it happened during a puppet theater performance. Another progressive project was implemented in the village schools of Karakalpakstan, close to the saiga habitats: “Environmental education and informing the population through puppet theater.” Very touching mini-performances leave neither children nor adults indifferent. After quick rehearsals, schoolchildren become actors telling stories about good and evil, love and respect for all animals, without exception. There was a real competition to play the role of a baby saiga and its mother, which became evidence of the growing popularity of these animals and a change in the consumer attitude towards saigas among the population. During the performance, puppet characters come out to the audience and conduct small interactive exercises. During the performances, children help rehabilitate an evil poacher, save an eagle and make friends with many inhabitants of the steppes. After the performance, master classes on puppet making and theatrical skills were held for the children and their adult mentors. The good practice and success of this educational project became possible thanks to the idea and enthusiasm of the young biologist Alexandra Zaslavskaya. Everyone is ready to see the continuation of the performances during the Saiga Day holiday. We are in anticipation of a fairy tale, which may soon begin to come true.
